The Sundowner Ranch is a small eight-acre parcel located just above Matanzas Creek at the 900-foot level of Sonoma Mountain. It has a sunny western exposure, but is cooled by the afternoon breezes that come up from Bennett Valley. Newly planted in 2002, there are only three acres of vines- one acre of head pruned Dupratt Zinfandel (cloned from 100 year old plants) on St, George rootstock and two acres of Syrah (French clone #174) on 3309 root stock.
