Sitting in a saddle at about 850 feet, Rolling Hills Ranch is the only vineyard in the Bennett Valley appellation that is also overlapped by the Sonoma Coast appellation. Our Exposure to cool afternoon breezes gives us an extended hang time leading to intense flavors from the fruit of the 10 acres each of chardonnay and merlot we grow. As the name implies, variety of terrain is a key feature, providing us different sun exposures and soil profiles, from chalky tuft volcanics to deep fertile loams. Planted in 1997, we are using a variety of root stocks including 110R, 1103, SO4 & 5C.
